National Indigenous History Month - Professional Development Session
Manitoba is hosting Professional Development Session for National Indigenous History Month. The topic is ‘Helping Indigenous Youth Thrive in Sport’.
They will be having 2 speakers presenting on culturally relevant practices that coaches can adopt to help indigenous athletes thrive in sport, and how they’ve applied these practices to their own coaching experience. The session details are as follows:

2024 Arctic Winter Games (AWG)
If you are interested in attending the trials for the 2024 AWGs please ensure you start your passport application as soon as possible if you do not have a current one. Territorial Trials tentative date November of 2023. More information to follow!Community Coach Workshop
The Community Coach Workshop is designed for coaches working in the club environment and is a 3-hour National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) live/synchronous online course that provides:
- Monday, June 26, 6-9pm EST
- Interactive, Learning Facilitator lead exercises, video demonstrations, and quizzes to support learning and program delivery.
- Instruction on how to deliver the Smashball game using materials within Volleyball Canada’s free Smashball Trainer App (download at the Apple Store or Google Play).
- 80-page Activity Bank
- 5 Professional Development (PD) points for NCCP certified coaches
- The NCCP status of “Trained” Community Volleyball Coach
